The HTPG ph160-119 is a condensing natural gas water heater with a 119-gallon stainless steel tank, designed for demanding residential and commercial hot water applications. It operates at up to 96% thermal efficiency and delivers a 5-to-1 turndown ratio on a modulating input range of 40,000 to 160,000 BTU/h. The tank shell is constructed from 316L stainless steel for corrosion resistance and long service life. A high-grade stainless steel Inconel premix burner and 2-inch foam insulation contribute to efficient heat retention and combustion performance. Licensed plumbers and mechanical contractors are the typical installing trade for a unit of this capacity and fuel type.
The ph160-119 is suited for commercial facilities, multi-family residential buildings, and large single-family residential installations where high recovery rates and precise temperature control are required. It recovers at 184 GPH at a 100 degrees F rise, making it appropriate for applications with simultaneous high-demand draw cycles. Direct-vent configuration supports installation in a variety of mechanical room layouts. Optional accessories include a PVC concentric vent kit, stainless steel outside termination vent kit, condensate neutralizer, outdoor sensor, sanitizer booster kit, and PC connection cable with software.
The ph160-119 accepts natural gas or LP gas supply via a 3/4-inch gas connection and is plumbed with 1-1/2-inch threaded inlet and outlet connections. It is compatible with optional accessories including a PVC concentric vent kit, stainless steel outside termination vent kit, condensate neutralizer, outdoor sensor, sanitizer booster kit, and PC connection cable with software as offered by HTPG for the Phoenix product line.
Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified mechanical contractor in accordance with local codes, IFGC requirements for gas appliances, and the manufacturer installation instructions. Shut off the gas supply and cold water inlet and allow the existing system to depressurize before disconnecting any plumbing or gas connections. The direct-vent system requires proper venting termination per the manufacturer specifications; do not mix vent materials or reduce vent diameter below the specified 3-inch outlet size. Condensate drainage must be routed to an approved drain, and a condensate neutralizer is recommended where required by local authority.
