The HTH 52035R is a calcium hypochlorite (Cal Hypo) pool shock treatment formulated to deliver fast-acting, fast-dissolving chlorination without introducing cyanuric acid (CYA) into the water. This 4-in-1 formula kills and prevents bacteria and algae, reduces chlorine odor, and minimizes eye and skin irritation, resulting in clear, sanitized water. Traditional chlorine shock products contain CYA, which accumulates over time and can cause overstabilization or chlorine lock, reducing chlorine effectiveness and clouding pool water. The Cal Hypo base in the 52035R avoids this issue, making it a practical option for service techs managing pool chemistry on a regular maintenance schedule.
The 52035R is suited for use in all pool types, including vinyl liner, fiberglass, and plaster pools. The 1 lb package size is appropriate for single-treatment application or as part of a routine shock schedule. Pool service professionals use this product during weekly maintenance, after heavy bather loads, following rain events, or when visible algae growth or odor issues are detected. The formula will not fade pool liners, making it compatible with vinyl installations where oxidizer selection is a consideration.
Designed for use in all residential and light commercial pool types, including vinyl liner, fiberglass, and plaster or gunite pools. Suitable as a standalone shock treatment or as part of a broader pool chemical maintenance program.
Pool shock treatments should be applied by a qualified pool service professional or knowledgeable operator following label directions and applicable local regulations. Always power down any automatic chemical feeders before shocking, and test water chemistry before and after application. Pre-dissolve the product in a bucket of water before adding to the pool if liner fading or localized bleaching is a concern. Wear appropriate PPE including gloves and eye protection when handling Cal Hypo products.
