Integrated active noise-suppressing electronics amplify ambient speech and surrounding sounds to a usable level while compressing loud impulse noise — keeping workers aware of their environment without sacrificing protection. The earmuff carries a Noise Reduction Rating of 22 dB. When the electronics are powered off, the earmuff functions as a passive hearing protector. A 3.5mm stereo jack allows connection to radios, phones, or communication devices. Installs comfortably over the head without requiring a hard hat or faceshield.
The 1030942 is suited for industrial, construction, and range environments where workers need both hearing protection and situational awareness. The rigid cup design with foam cushioning provides a consistent acoustic seal. The folding design makes the earmuff easy to store when not in use. Designed as a standalone over-the-head earmuff for use without hard hats or faceshields. Replacement ear cushions are available under Grainger part number 36G712.
No tools are required to fit or adjust these earmuffs. Insert two AAA batteries before first use and verify the power indicator before entering a noise hazard area. Snap-in ear cushions can be replaced in the field without special tools. Confirm the acoustic seal around the ear each time the earmuff is donned, as glasses, facial hair, or improper positioning can reduce effective attenuation.
