The HONEYWELL SILENT KNIGHT EVS-RCU is a remote command unit designed for use in voice evacuation systems. It provides remote control and command functionality at a distributed point within an emergency voice evacuation setup, allowing system operators or responding personnel to manage audio evacuation broadcasts from a location other than the main panel. Up to four EVS-RCU units can be connected per 5820XL-EVS system, expanding command capability across a facility. Life safety technicians and fire alarm installers are the primary trades that specify, install, and commission this device.
The EVS-RCU is intended for commercial and institutional installations where distributed voice evacuation control is required. A typical deployment places one or more units at remote annunciator or command stations throughout a building, such as a lobby, fire command center, or stairwell entry point. The 5820XL-EVS system supports up to four of these remote command units per system, making the EVS-RCU suitable for mid-to-large facilities requiring multiple operator positions during an emergency evacuation event.
Compatible with the 5820XL-EVS voice evacuation system, with support for up to 4 EVS-RCU remote command units per system.
Installation should be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician in accordance with NFPA 72 and all applicable local codes. Disconnect and lock out system power before wiring or mounting this device. Follow the 5820XL-EVS system documentation for addressing, wiring topology, and supervision requirements. Do not exceed the maximum of four remote command units per system.
