The HONEYWELL rib2401d is a double-pole double-throw (DPDT) pilot relay rated for 10 amps maximum with a dual-voltage coil accepting 24 volts or 120 volts. Pilot relays are used to switch or isolate control circuits, allowing a low-voltage or line-voltage signal to energize a secondary load circuit without direct wiring between the two. The rib2401d is suited for HVAC controls, building automation systems, and general electrical control panels. Licensed electricians and HVAC controls technicians are the typical installers for this class of device.
The rib2401d fits into a wide range of light commercial and residential control applications where a reliable, compact relay is needed to interface between a thermostat circuit, a building automation controller, or another pilot signal and a secondary load. Its DPDT contact configuration provides switching flexibility, allowing both normally open and normally closed circuit paths to be managed from a single coil signal. It is commonly used in fan coil unit control, damper actuator circuits, and auxiliary switching in air handling systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-wired addition for DPDT pilot relay applications in residential and light commercial HVAC control panels and building automation systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or qualified HVAC controls technician in accordance with the NEC and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out all power to the control panel before removing or installing the relay. Verify coil voltage matches the control circuit voltage at the terminal before energizing. Do not exceed the 10 amp contact rating on the switched load circuit.
