The HONEYWELL P3001-150 is a Proflex shielded coupling designed for joining dissimilar DWV pipe materials in drain, waste, and vent systems. The coupling consists of an elastomeric sleeve paired with a stainless steel shield, creating a secure, leak-resistant connection between cast-iron, Schedule 40 PVC plastic, or steel pipe and copper DWV pipe. At 1-1/2 inches by 1-1/2 inches, this coupling is sized for standard residential and light commercial DWV applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting during new construction, remodel, or repair work where two different pipe materials meet at a joint.
This coupling is intended for use in drain, waste, and vent piping systems where material transitions occur. Common applications include connecting cast-iron stack sections to copper branch lines, tying Schedule 40 PVC into existing cast-iron drain systems, or joining steel pipe to copper DWV runs. It is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing installations where code-approved no-hub or transition fittings are required at material change points.
Designed for use with cast-iron, Schedule 40 PVC plastic, and steel pipe transitioning to copper DWV pipe at 1-1/2 inch nominal diameter. Suitable as an OEM-style shielded coupling replacement in residential and light commercial drain, waste, and vent piping systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber following applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off water supply and ensure the pipe section is drained and depressurized before beginning work. Pipe ends should be cut square, deburred, and cleaned before the elastomeric sleeve is seated to ensure a proper seal. Tighten the stainless steel shield clamps evenly and to the fitting manufacturer's standard torque guidance using a flat-blade or nut driver.
