The HONEYWELL NP1MDBRZ12 is a moisture-curing polyurethane sealant that delivers permanent elasticity for demanding interior and exterior joint applications. Formerly sold as Sonolastic NP 1, this single-component formula requires no mixing and bonds to concrete, masonry, aluminum, and wood without a primer. The bronze-colored sealant skins overnight, reaches functional cure in approximately 3 days, and achieves full cure in 5 to 7 days. Joint movement capability is plus or minus 35 percent, making it well suited for active and structural joints. Each tube contains 10.1 oz of material with a shelf life of 12 months.
This sealant is designed for use on vertical and horizontal joints in both interior and exterior environments. Typical applications include expansion wall joints, floor and pavement joints, curtain walls, panel walls, precast concrete walls, window frames, structural components, dams, spillways, and storm water drains. It is appropriate for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects where a durable, long-lasting seal is required. USDA approved for use in meat and poultry processing areas, and holds Canadian approval for food-handling establishments, making it a practical choice for food service and industrial facility work as well.
Designed for use on concrete, masonry, aluminum, and wood substrates in active, vertical, and horizontal interior and exterior joint applications including expansion joints, pavement joints, curtain walls, panel walls, precast walls, window frames, structural components, dams, spillways, and storm water drains.
This sealant is typically installed by contractors, masons, glaziers, or general construction tradespeople following standard joint preparation practices. Surfaces should be clean, dry, and free of dust, oil, and loose material before application. Work within the manufacturer-specified temperature range for proper cure, and avoid disturbing the joint during the skin-over and functional cure periods. Consult applicable building codes and project specifications for joint sizing, backing rod requirements, and surface preparation standards.
