The Honeywell Home Intrusion 5819S is a wireless combination contact and shock sensor designed for use in residential and light commercial intrusion detection systems. It monitors both door and window contact events and detects impact or vibration, triggering an alert when forced entry is attempted. The 5819S transmits wirelessly to a compatible control panel, eliminating the need for hardwired runs to each protected opening. Security technicians and alarm installers are the primary trades that source and install this sensor.
The 5819S is suited for residential homes, apartment units, and small commercial spaces where wireless zone coverage is required. It is typically installed on doors, windows, or glass surfaces where both contact monitoring and shock or vibration detection are needed at the same point. The wireless design makes it well suited for retrofit installations where running new wire is not practical.
Designed as an OEM-style wireless sensor for use with compatible wireless intrusion detection control panels. Refer to the system panel documentation to confirm wireless receiver compatibility before installation.
Installation should be performed by a licensed alarm or low-voltage contractor in accordance with local codes and the control panel manufacturer guidelines. Disable or bypass the affected zone on the control panel before mounting or servicing the sensor. Mount the sensor on a clean, dry surface using the provided hardware, and verify wireless signal strength at the panel before finalizing placement. Do not install in locations subject to excessive vibration unrelated to intrusion, as this may cause nuisance triggers.
