The Honeywell Home Intrusion 504 is a fixed-temperature thermal detector rated for activation at 190 degrees F. Thermal detectors respond to heat rather than smoke or combustion byproducts, triggering an alarm when ambient air temperature reaches the preset threshold. The 504 carries UL listing, confirming it has been independently tested and verified for performance in life-safety applications. It is installed by licensed fire alarm technicians and security system professionals as part of a hardwired intrusion or fire detection system.
The 504 is suited for residential and light commercial installations where smoke detectors may produce nuisance alarms, such as attics, garages, kitchens, and utility spaces. Its fixed 190 degrees F trip point makes it appropriate for areas that experience elevated ambient temperatures under normal conditions. Installation is performed as part of a zone-based detection circuit and must comply with applicable local fire and building codes.
Designed as an OEM-style thermal detector for use in hardwired zone-based fire and intrusion detection systems. Consult the control panel documentation to confirm zone wiring requirements before installation.
Installation should be performed by a licensed fire alarm or security system technician in accordance with NFPA 72 and applicable local codes. De-energize the detection circuit and notify the monitoring station before beginning work. Mount and wire the detector per the control panel manufacturer's specifications. Do not substitute this device in applications requiring smoke detection.
