The Honeywell Home Intrusion 5815 is a wireless 2-zone door and window transmitter with a built-in magnet, designed for use in residential and light commercial security systems. This contact transmitter mounts to doors or windows and sends a wireless signal to a compatible alarm control panel whenever the protected opening is disturbed. It is supplied in white to blend with standard door and window frames. Security alarm technicians and low-voltage installation professionals are the typical installers for this device.
The 5815 is used in installations where running wired door and window contacts is impractical or undesirable. It suits retrofit projects in existing construction as well as new builds where wireless zoning simplifies installation. The 2-zone capability allows a single transmitter to supervise two independent protected points, reducing hardware count on multi-opening applications such as double doors or an adjacent window pair.
Designed as an OEM-style wireless door and window contact transmitter for use with compatible Honeywell Home and Resideo wireless security control panels that support this transmitter format. Confirm panel compatibility with the specific receiver or control panel documentation before installation.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed low-voltage or alarm systems technician in accordance with local codes and the control panel manufacturer guidelines. Before servicing or replacing any transmitter in an active system, disarm the panel and follow the panel manufacturer enrollment procedure to register the device to the correct zone. Mount the transmitter to the door or window frame and the magnet to the moving sash or door, maintaining the gap tolerance specified in the product data sheet. Do not install in locations subject to extreme moisture or temperatures outside the rated operating range.
