The HONEYWELL COMMERCIAL SECURITY OS40KT1TOSDPH is an OmniSmart 40K smart card reader that supports H-Key credential technology and communicates over the OSDP v2 (Open Supervised Device Protocol version 2) serial interface. Designed for access control applications, it processes 40-bit H-Key credentials and provides encrypted, supervised communication between the reader and an access control panel. Licensed security integrators and commercial access control technicians are the primary installers of this device.
This reader is suited for commercial and enterprise access control deployments where secure, standards-based reader-to-controller communication is required. OSDP v2 support enables bidirectional communication, allowing for remote diagnostics, LED and audio control, and tamper detection over a single RS-485 bus. It is appropriate for door entry points in office buildings, data centers, and other secured commercial facilities requiring high-assurance credential validation.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation smart card reader for commercial access control systems supporting OSDP v2 over RS-485 wiring infrastructure.
Installation should be performed by a licensed security or low-voltage systems integrator familiar with access control wiring standards. Power down the access control panel and associated door hardware before beginning wiring. RS-485 bus termination and addressing must be configured correctly to avoid communication conflicts on multi-reader installations. Consult the manufacturer datasheet and applicable local low-voltage codes before mounting and commissioning the reader.
