The Honeywell Commercial Security MPA1P is a single-door Power over Ethernet access control controller packaged with an enclosure kit. It delivers both data communication and DC power through a single Ethernet cable, eliminating the need for a separate power supply at the door. Designed for commercial security installations, the MPA1P manages credential reading, door lock control, and access event logging at a single-door entry point. Licensed security integrators and commercial low-voltage technicians are the primary installers. The included enclosure kit provides a ready-to-mount housing for clean, code-compliant field deployment.
The MPA1P suits commercial facilities requiring networked access control at individual entry points. Typical installations include office doors, server room entries, interior secured areas, and perimeter access points in mid-size commercial buildings. Because it runs on PoE, it integrates directly into existing structured cabling infrastructure, reducing installation labor and materials. The enclosure kit allows surface mounting in mechanical rooms, above drop ceilings, or in utility spaces where a finished enclosure is required.
Designed as an OEM-style single-door PoE access controller for use within compatible Honeywell Commercial Security networked access control systems. Verify system software and panel compatibility with current Honeywell Commercial Security documentation before installation.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage or security systems technician in accordance with local codes and NEC Article 725 requirements for Class 2 and Class 3 circuits. De-energize the PoE network switch port before connecting or disconnecting the controller. Confirm that the supplying PoE switch or injector meets the power budget required by the MPA1P before powering up. Mount the enclosure to a secure, stable surface and verify all wiring connections are fully seated before commissioning the door hardware.
