The HOMEWERKS WORLDWIDE 545-34-34-B is a CPVC transition brass union designed to connect male metal pipe threads to CPVC (Chlorinated PolyVinyl Chloride) piping systems. This fitting addresses the difference in coefficients of thermal expansion between CPVC and metal pipe, making it suitable for hot water distribution applications. The 3/4 inch Slip x 3/4 inch FIP connection configuration allows straightforward integration into existing piping runs. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this union where system serviceability is required, as the union design permits easy disassembly of the piping system without cutting pipe. Lead content on wetted surfaces is manufactured to no more than 0.25% weighted average, meeting lead-free compliance standards for potable water applications.
The 545-34-34-B is used in residential and light commercial hot water plumbing systems where CPVC piping meets metal threaded pipe components. This transition union is a common solution at water heater connections, boiler supply and return lines, and fixture supply branches where CPVC terminates at a metal valve, manifold, or threaded fitting. A CPVC coupling is required for installation and is not included with this fitting. It is sold individually, with 20 units packaged per box for contractors stocking multiple fittings.
Designed as an OEM-style transition fitting for CPVC hot water piping systems where the line connects to male metal threaded components. Requires a separate CPVC coupling for installation.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before beginning work. Solvent-cement the slip end to CPVC pipe using CPVC-rated cement and primer; do not use standard PVC cement on CPVC fittings. Thread the FIP end onto the male metal pipe thread with appropriate thread sealant, then tighten the union nut to complete the joint.
