The HOLYOKE FITTINGS 44r-10106 is a brass reducing flare tee designed for use in refrigeration, air-conditioning, plumbing, and heating systems. It features a three-port configuration with two 5/8-inch flare connections on the run and a 3/8-inch flare connection on the branch, allowing a single line to split or reduce to a smaller outlet. The fitting is machined from brass for corrosion resistance and reliable sealing at flare joints. Licensed refrigeration and HVAC technicians, as well as journeyman plumbers, are the primary installers of this type of fitting.
This reducing flare tee is suited for residential and light commercial refrigerant line applications where a main 5/8-inch line must branch to a 3/8-inch circuit. It also sees use in copper tubing assemblies within heating and cooling equipment, refrigeration equipment, and hydronic systems that rely on flare-type connections for leak-free joints without soldering.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation flare tee for copper tubing systems in HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and heating applications where 5/8-inch and 3/8-inch flare connections are required.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or plumber in accordance with applicable mechanical codes. Shut off and recover any refrigerant or depressurize the system fully before disconnecting or installing flare fittings. Use a calibrated flaring tool to produce clean, correctly sized flare seats on the tubing ends, and tighten flare nuts to the fitting with appropriate flare wrenches — avoid over-tightening, which can crack the flare seat. Inspect all joints for leaks after restoring system pressure.
