The HOLO-KROME 86065 is a fully threaded button socket cap screw designed for metric fastening applications requiring high strength and a low-profile head. Built from Grade 12.9 alloy steel with a black oxide finish, this fastener delivers a minimum hardness of 38 HRC, making it suitable for high-stress assemblies where standard-grade hardware falls short. The M12x1.75 thread and 25mm length under head are paired with an 8mm hex socket drive, allowing torque application with standard Allen or hex key tooling. It conforms to ANSI/ASME B18.3 and ASTM F835 fastener standards. This screw is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
This button socket cap screw is used in mechanical, industrial, and equipment assembly applications where a low-profile domed head is needed to clear adjacent components or reduce snag risk. The black oxide finish provides mild corrosion resistance in controlled indoor environments. Typical installation scenarios include machine frames, fixture plates, enclosures, and similar assemblies where a flush or semi-recessed fastener profile is preferred. Installers in HVAC equipment fabrication, electrical panel assembly, and general mechanical maintenance will encounter this fastener in OEM and field-repair contexts.
Designed as a metric-standard button socket cap screw conforming to ANSI/ASME B18.3 and ASTM F835, suitable for use in any assembly specifying an M12x1.75 Grade 12.9 button head fastener with a 4G or 6G thread fit class.
Installation should be performed by a qualified mechanic or technician using an 8mm hex key or hex socket driver rated for the torque requirements of Grade 12.9 fasteners. Verify thread engagement depth and hole condition before installation. Do not exceed the recommended torque for M12 Grade 12.9 fasteners as specified by the equipment manufacturer or applicable fastener standards. Reuse of fasteners removed from high-stress joints is not recommended.
