The HOLO-KROME 76578 is a metric hex socket cap screw engineered for high-strength fastening in demanding industrial and mechanical assemblies. Built from alloy steel to material grade 12.9, this fastener delivers exceptional tensile and proof load capacity suited for critical bolted joints. The black oxide coating provides a baseline level of corrosion resistance and reduces light reflection in precision applications. The screw features a partially threaded shank with an M24 x 3.00 thread profile and a 180 mm length under the head. It is driven with a hex socket key and conforms to ANSI B1.13M, DIN 912, ISO 4762, and ISO 898-1 standards. Licensed mechanics, millwrights, and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary installers.
This cap screw is used in heavy-duty mechanical assemblies where high clamp load and precise torque control are required. Typical applications include machine frames, hydraulic components, gearboxes, structural tooling fixtures, and industrial equipment requiring metric fasteners. The partially threaded shank is well suited for applications where thread engagement is needed only at the mating component, allowing the unthreaded shank to act as a precision dowel in the clearance hole.
Designed as a standard DIN 912 and ISO 4762 metric hex socket cap screw compatible with M24 x 3.00 threaded bores in industrial machinery, tooling, and structural assemblies requiring grade 12.9 fasteners.
Installation should be performed by qualified millwrights, machinists, or industrial maintenance technicians familiar with metric fastener torque specifications for grade 12.9 hardware. Use a calibrated torque wrench and the appropriate metric hex key or socket to achieve proper clamp load without overloading the joint. De-energize, depressurize, or otherwise lock out the equipment before servicing any bolted assembly. Inspect threads in the mating component for damage or contamination before installation.
