The HOLO-KROME 76537 is a metric hex socket cap screw designed for high-strength fastening applications in industrial and mechanical assemblies. Manufactured from grade 12.9 alloy steel with a black oxide coating, this fastener delivers exceptional tensile strength and moderate corrosion resistance. The M20 x 2.50 thread profile with a 140 mm length under head and partial threading makes it well suited for through-bolt and tapped-hole configurations where precise clamping load is required. This screw is used in commercial and industrial settings where high-grade metric fasteners are specified by engineering drawings or OEM service documentation. Partial threading allows the unthreaded shank to bear shear loads while the threaded section engages the tapped bore. Typical applications include machinery frames, hydraulic component mounting, structural steel fabrication, and precision equipment assembly. It conforms to ANSI B1.13M, DIN 912, ISO 4762, and ISO 898-1 standards, making it interchangeable with internationally specified fasteners of the same class.

Installation requires an appropriately sized hex key or socket bit; always use calibrated torque tooling when tightening grade 12.9 fasteners to engineered joint specifications. De-energize and lock out all machinery before fastener removal or replacement in live assemblies. Do not substitute a lower-grade fastener in a joint designed for grade 12.9 - doing so can result in joint failure under load. Apply thread lubricant only when specified by the engineering document, as lubricant changes the torque-to-clamp-force relationship.
