The HOLO-KROME 76481 is a metric hex socket cap screw designed for high-strength fastening applications in industrial, mechanical, and trade assembly work. It features an M16 x 2.00 thread size with a 150 mm (approximately 5.91 inches) length under head and is partially threaded for proper load distribution in bolted joints. Manufactured from alloy steel to a 12.9 material grade, this screw delivers a high tensile strength rating suitable for demanding structural and mechanical connections. The black oxide finish provides a degree of corrosion resistance and reduces light reflection in finished assemblies. Installation requires a standard hex socket (Allen) drive tool.
This fastener is used across a wide range of industrial and mechanical applications where a high-strength metric cap screw is required. Common install scenarios include machinery assembly, structural steel connections, hydraulic component mounting, and equipment fabrication. The partially threaded shank provides a bearing surface in close-tolerance bores, making it well suited for applications requiring precise alignment and shear-load resistance. It is appropriate for both shop and field installation by millwrights, pipefitters, maintenance mechanics, and other trades working with metric-standard equipment.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit fastener for metric M16 x 2.00 threaded applications conforming to DIN 912, ISO 4762, and ANSI B1.13M standards.
Installation should be performed by a qualified mechanic or tradesperson using a properly sized hex socket driver or Allen key. Always verify the mating thread condition and bore alignment before installation. De-energize or lock out any equipment before servicing fastened assemblies per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Do not exceed the rated material grade torque range for 12.9 class fasteners; consult published torque tables for the specific joint design.
