The HOLO-KROME 76423 is a metric hex socket cap screw designed for high-strength fastening applications across industrial, mechanical, and trade environments. This screw features an M16 x 2.00 thread profile with a 25 mm (approximately 0.984 inches) length under head and is fully threaded along its entire shank. Manufactured from alloy steel to a material grade of 12.9, it delivers exceptional tensile strength for demanding joint assemblies. The black oxide coating provides a degree of corrosion resistance and reduces light reflection in finished assemblies. Installation requires a hex socket driver or Allen key of the appropriate metric size. Mechanical contractors, millwrights, and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary installers.
This fastener is suited for use in machine assemblies, structural mechanical connections, and equipment maintenance where a high-clamp-load, close-tolerance socket head cap screw is required. The fully threaded shank makes it appropriate for applications where thread engagement is needed along the complete grip length, including tapped-hole installations in metal components. It conforms to ANSI B1.13M, ISO 4762, and ISO 898-1 standards, making it compatible with metric fastener specifications used in both domestic and international equipment manufacturing and service.
Designed as a standard metric hex socket cap screw for use in any tapped M16 x 2.00 metric hole conforming to ISO 4762 dimensional requirements. Suitable for general-purpose industrial and mechanical assembly applications where a grade 12.9 alloy steel fastener is specified.
Installation should be performed by a qualified mechanic or millwright using a calibrated torque wrench and the correct metric hex key or socket. Always ensure the tapped receiving hole meets the required thread class and depth before installation. Follow the equipment manufacturer's torque specifications for grade 12.9 fasteners, and do not substitute a lower-grade fastener in a joint designed for 12.9. Inspect threads for damage or contamination before assembly.
