The HOLO-KROME 61060 is a flat socket cap screw designed for applications requiring a flush or countersunk fastener profile. It features an 82-degree flat head driven by a 5/16-inch hex socket and is fully threaded along its 2-inch overall length. The 1/2-20 UNF thread form and Thread Fit Class 3A provide a precise, close-tolerance fit suited to demanding mechanical assemblies. Manufactured from alloy steel with a black oxide finish, the fastener meets ASME B18.3 and ASTM F835 standards. Hardness is rated at 39-44 HRC. Machinists, millwrights, and maintenance technicians install this screw where a standard hex head would protrude above a mating surface.
This screw is appropriate for use in precision mechanical assemblies, tooling fixtures, machine frames, and industrial equipment where a low-profile countersunk fastener is required. The 1/2-20 fine thread pitch offers good resistance to vibration loosening compared to coarse-thread equivalents. The black oxide finish provides mild corrosion resistance and reduces light reflection in service environments where that is a concern. It is suitable for both production assembly and field repair applications across general metalworking and industrial maintenance trades.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-supply flat socket cap screw for any assembly specifying a 1/2-20 UNF x 2-inch fully threaded, 82-degree flat head hex socket fastener per ASME B18.3.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist, millwright, or mechanical technician familiar with countersunk fastener applications. Ensure the mating countersink is machined to an 82-degree included angle to match the head geometry before driving the screw. Use a properly sized 5/16-inch hex key or socket bit to avoid rounding the drive recess. De-energize and lock out any equipment before servicing fasteners on moving or powered assemblies.
