The HOLO-KROME 08056 is a Grade 8 alloy steel shoulder screw designed for precision fastening applications where a controlled-diameter bearing surface is required. The shoulder measures 0.375 inches in diameter and 2.75 inches in length, providing an accurate locating surface for rotating or sliding components such as linkages, pivots, and fixtures. The threaded end is 5/16-18 UNC with a 0.5-inch thread length. Drive engagement is via a 3/16-inch hex socket. The rounded head stands 0.25 inches tall with a head diameter ranging from 0.543 to 0.562 inches. Overall length is 3.5 inches. This fastener is installed by machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance technicians across industrial and mechanical assembly environments.
The 08056 shoulder screw is suited for use in jigs, fixtures, tooling plates, machine assemblies, and mechanical linkages where a hardened, close-tolerance shoulder is needed to guide movement or locate a mating component. The uncoated alloy steel construction meets ASME B18.3 dimensional standards and ASME B1.1 thread standards, making it a direct fit for applications requiring conformance to these specifications. It is commonly found in manufacturing, automation, and maintenance-repair-operations settings.
Designed as a standard ASME B18.3 shoulder screw for use in fixtures, jigs, pivots, and mechanical assemblies requiring a 3/8-inch shoulder diameter and 5/16-18 UNC threaded engagement.
Install using a 3/16-inch hex key or appropriate socket driver. Ensure the mating bore is sized to the shoulder diameter tolerance for proper fit and function. Do not apply thread-locking compounds unless specified by the assembly design, as this may affect serviceability. Torque to the design specification for the application; do not overtighten, as the 5/16-18 thread is smaller than the shoulder and susceptible to cross-threading if driven at an angle.
