The HILLMAN FASTENERS 5102 is a small pop-toggle anchor kit designed for securing fasteners into hollow walls and thin materials. Each kit includes two pop-toggle anchors, a No. 8 x 1 inch pan-head combination sheet metal screw, and an installation pin. The toggle expands behind the wall surface when set, distributing load across a wider area than a standard screw alone. Suitable for material thicknesses from 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch, the 5102 is a common choice for HVAC techs, electricians, and general trade contractors working with light sheet metal assemblies, junction box supports, or panel attachments in thin-wall applications.
The 5102 pop-toggle anchor is used where the back side of the material is inaccessible for a traditional nut-and-bolt installation. Typical applications include hollow metal doors, thin sheet metal panels, drop-ceiling grid framing attachments, and light electrical or mechanical component mounting. A 5/16 inch drill bit is required to prepare the pilot hole before anchor insertion. The 2-pack format suits small repair and single-component mounting tasks.
Designed for use in hollow or thin-wall substrates with a material thickness between 1/8 inch and 1/4 inch requiring a 5/16 inch pilot hole.
Installation is performed with a standard drill and 5/16 inch bit to create the pilot hole. Insert the collapsed toggle through the hole using the included installation pin, then drive the sheet metal screw to expand and seat the anchor against the back face of the material. Do not overtighten the screw, as excessive torque can collapse or distort the toggle in thin-gauge material. Follow applicable local building and mechanical codes for load ratings when using toggle anchors in structural or equipment-support applications.
