The HILLMAN FASTENERS 48614 is a box of Power Pro Bronze Ceramic exterior wood screws designed for demanding outdoor fastening applications. Each screw measures 3.5 inches in length at a number 10 diameter and features a self-drilling point that eliminates the need for pre-drilling in most exterior wood assemblies. The Borefast thread pattern and knurled shank section reduce splitting pressure on lumber and composite materials. The bronze ceramic coating is rated to withstand 2000 hours of salt-spray exposure, making this fastener appropriate for coastal and high-moisture environments. Licensed contractors and experienced carpenters rely on this product for deck, fence, and exterior trim work.
These screws are suited for residential and light commercial exterior construction where corrosion resistance is a primary concern. Typical applications include pressure-treated deck framing and decking boards, fence pickets and rails, exterior trim, and similar outdoor wood structures exposed to weather and moisture. The star drive recess provides high torque transfer and reduces cam-out during installation. Each box contains 5 pounds of screws, with 4 boxes per package quantity as supplied.
Designed for use in exterior wood construction applications including pressure-treated lumber, cedar, redwood, and composite decking materials where a corrosion-resistant fastener is required.
Installation is performed by carpenters, deck builders, and general contractors using a star-drive bit matched to the screw recess. Always use appropriate personal protective equipment when operating power drivers. Follow local building codes for fastener spacing and penetration depth requirements on structural exterior assemblies. Do not use impact drivers at maximum torque settings without verifying that fastener heads are not being overdriven into the substrate.
