The HILLMAN FASTENERS 461798 is a ring shank drywall nail designed for fastening gypsum wallboard to wood framing. The ring shank profile bites into wood fiber as the nail is driven, resisting pull-through and reducing nail pops over time. At 1.25 inches in length, this nail is sized for standard single-layer drywall installation on residential and light commercial framing. Each package contains 100 nails, making it a practical quantity for small patches or room-by-room work. Drywall installers and finish carpenters reach for this fastener when hand-nailing boards to studs, ceiling joists, or furring strips.
This nail is suited for residential drywall applications where screw guns are not available or where hand-nailing is preferred. Common install scenarios include new construction framing, remodel work, and patch repairs. The 1.25 inch length is appropriate for attaching standard half-inch drywall to nominal two-inch framing lumber. Sold in a 100-count pack, it is also available in a package quantity of 5 packs per order unit for larger job stocking.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement fastener for standard residential and light commercial drywall installations where ring shank nails are specified for wood-framed assemblies.
Drywall nails are typically driven by a finish hammer or drywall hammer by a drywall installer or general contractor. Power down or de-energize any wiring behind the wall before driving fasteners. Drive nails so the head is slightly dimpled below the board surface without breaking the paper face. Follow applicable local building codes for nail spacing on wall and ceiling assemblies.
