The HILLMAN FASTENERS 41429 is a snap-in toggle bolt designed for fastening into hollow walls and ceilings where a standard wood or machine screw cannot grip. The bolt features a mushroom head profile and a spring-loaded toggle wing that collapses for insertion through a drilled hole, then expands behind the surface to distribute load. Each package contains 5 bolts at 1/4-inch diameter and 4-inch length. This fastener is commonly installed by electricians, plumbers, HVAC techs, and general contractors when anchoring brackets, conduit supports, equipment hangers, or duct supports to drywall, plaster, or hollow-block surfaces.
This toggle bolt is suited for residential and light commercial applications where a reliable hollow-wall anchor is required. Typical scenarios include mounting electrical boxes, pipe straps, HVAC equipment support brackets, and similar hardware to interior walls or ceilings with hollow cavities behind the finish surface. The 4-inch bolt length accommodates thicker wall assemblies or mounting hardware with added standoff depth.
Designed as a standard 1/4-inch snap-in toggle bolt for use in hollow-wall and hollow-ceiling applications typical in residential and light commercial construction.
Installation requires drilling a hole sized to allow the collapsed toggle wing to pass through the wall surface. Insert the toggle through the hole, pull back firmly to seat the wing against the back of the surface, and tighten the bolt until the mushroom head is snug. Do not overtighten, as excessive torque can crush drywall or plaster and reduce holding capacity. Follow applicable building and mechanical codes when using toggle bolts to support conduit, pipe, or equipment loads.
