The HILLMAN FASTENERS 117900 is a 10x1 inch self-drilling metal-to-wood roofing screw finished in charcoal grey with a Dura Seal coating. It is designed to fasten steel roofing panels directly to wood substrates, including purlins and structural sheathing. The screw features a hex washer head (HWH) with a V-neck design that adds mechanical strength and resists head pop-out. An EPDM rubber washer is vulcanized to a steel washer to create a watertight seal, even when the screw is driven at a slight angle. Licensed contractors and roofing crews install these during post-frame and residential construction. Each box includes a Pro-Stick bit.

This screw is used in post-frame construction to attach steel roofing to wood purlins, and in residential construction to fasten steel roofing over plywood or OSB decking. The Dura Seal coating provides 2.5 mils of powder with a chromate sealer, delivering enhanced corrosion resistance compared to standard painted-head fasteners. The thread profile transitions from fine to coarse, which improves holding strength across different wood densities and substrates. The micro-bit point is engineered to reduce metal shavings that could otherwise embed in the EPDM rubber washer and compromise the seal.
