The HILLMAN 532431 is a corrugated bright steel joint fastener designed to mechanically bind wood joints by being driven directly into the mating surfaces with a hammer. The fastener is a thin, corrugated steel strip that bites across a joint line, drawing and holding the two pieces together without the need for adhesive alone. At 3/8 inch in width and 5 gauge thickness, it delivers solid holding power in both hard and soft wood applications. This type of fastener is standard in furniture assembly, picture frame construction, door frame building, and rough carpentry where the joint back is not visible in the finished work. Each package contains 30 fasteners.
These corrugated fasteners are suited for residential and light commercial woodworking and carpentry tasks. They are intended for use on the backside or concealed face of a joint where appearance is not a factor, since the corrugated steel surface will be visible once installed. Common applications include joining corner pieces, assembling cabinet backs, reinforcing miter joints, and securing butt joints in framing and millwork. They work in both hard and soft wood species.
Designed as a standard corrugated joint fastener for use in hard and soft wood joinery where the fastened surface will not be visible in the finished assembly.
Corrugated joint fasteners are installed by general carpenters and woodworkers using a hammer or mallet driven squarely across the joint line. Position the fastener centered over the joint seam and drive it flush or just below the wood surface. Use only on concealed or backside surfaces, as the corrugated steel will be visible after installation. Ensure the joint pieces are clamped or held firmly together before driving to prevent shifting.
