The HILLMAN 41554 is a slotted hex washer head concrete screw designed to fasten materials directly into concrete, brick, and block without anchors or inserts. The hardened high-low thread cuts its own path into masonry as the screw is driven, creating a secure mechanical hold. Installation is a straightforward two-step process: drill a pilot hole, then drive the screw. The screw can be removed and re-inserted into the same hole, making it useful for applications that require periodic access. Each pack contains 25 screws measuring 3/16 inch in diameter by 1-3/4 inches in length.
The HILLMAN 41554 is suited for light-duty masonry fastening in residential and light commercial construction. Typical applications include window installations, interior handrails, metal door frames, storm shutters, interior lighting fixture mounting, thresholds, and screened enclosures. The hex washer head style allows for driving with a standard nut driver or hex-head bit, which is common in both new construction and retrofit work on concrete block and brick masonry substrates.
Designed for use in concrete, brick, and block masonry substrates in applications such as window installations, interior handrails, metal door frames, storm shutters, interior lighting fixtures, thresholds, and screened enclosures.
Installation requires drilling a correctly sized pilot hole into the masonry substrate before driving the screw. Use a carbide-tipped masonry bit sized to the manufacturer recommendation for 3/16 inch concrete screws. Drive with a hex-head bit or nut driver at controlled speed to avoid stripping the masonry thread. Follow applicable local building codes when fastening structural or load-bearing components.
