The HILLMAN 122537 is a brass plated trim nail designed for finish carpentry applications including hardwood molding and interior trim installation. Manufactured at 13 gauge with a 1-1/4 inch shank length, these nails provide secure, low-visibility fastening in hardwood and softwood trim profiles. The brass plating resists corrosion and blends with finished woodwork, reducing the need for additional concealment. Each unit ships in a 1 oz. plastic box containing approximately 29 nails. Carpenters, finish contractors, and trim installers rely on this gauge and length for standard base, casing, and chair-rail applications where splitting and blowout are concerns.
These trim nails are suited for residential and light commercial finish carpentry work. Common applications include attaching door and window casing, baseboard molding, chair rail, and decorative hardwood trim to wall framing or substrate. The 1-1/4 inch length is appropriate for thin-profile molding profiles where a longer nail would penetrate too deeply or risk surface blowout. Hand nailing or use with a brad nail set is typical for this gauge and application.
Designed for use with hardwood molding and interior trim fastening applications where a 13-gauge, 1-1/4 inch brass plated nail is appropriate.
Installation is performed by finish carpenters and trim contractors using a hammer and nail set or compatible hand tools. Pre-drilling a pilot hole in hardwood is recommended to prevent splitting, especially near the ends of trim boards. Follow applicable building codes for interior finish work. Fill nail holes with wood putty after fastening for a clean finished appearance.
