The HERTEL SZ0021CE is a solid carbide rotary abrasive bur with a cylinder-with-end-cut head geometry, conforming to industry specification SB-14. It is designed for material removal, deburring, shaping, and surface finishing of metals, hardened steels, cast iron, and similar hard materials. The 3/16-inch cutting diameter and 5/8-inch length of cut make it well suited for work in confined areas and on detailed profiles. The double-cut tooth pattern accelerates stock removal while producing a smoother finish compared to single-cut configurations. A standard 1/4-inch shank diameter ensures compatibility with common die grinders, rotary tools, and flexible shaft machines used in fabrication and maintenance environments.
This bur is used in metalworking, tool and die, welding and fabrication, and general maintenance applications. The end-cut geometry allows the technician to plunge into material and work in blind cavities or corners where straight-flute or ball-nose profiles cannot reach. It is a common choice for cleaning weld joints, enlarging ports, and removing burrs from machined parts. Typical users include machinists, welders, fabricators, and maintenance technicians working with pneumatic or electric rotary tools in shop and field settings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard rotary bur for use with 1/4-inch collet die grinders, pneumatic rotary tools, and electric rotary tools conforming to SB-14 industry specification.
Installation is performed by machinists or fabricators using standard 1/4-inch collet tooling on die grinders or rotary tools. Ensure the tool is powered off and pressure is relieved before inserting or removing the bur from the collet. Inspect the bur shank for wear or damage before each use and do not use a bur that shows cracking or chipping. Always operate within the RPM rating of the rotary tool and wear appropriate eye and hand protection per shop safety standards.
