The HERTEL SZ0016C is a solid carbide abrasive bur with a cylinder-with-flat-end head profile, designed for material removal, deburring, and surface finishing in metal fabrication and machining applications. The double-cut tooth style produces a faster cut rate and finer finish than single-cut geometry, making it well suited for ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, and hard alloys. The head is uncoated solid carbide, delivering the hardness and wear resistance required for demanding grinding tasks. With a 5/32-inch cutting diameter and a 1/2-inch length of cut, this bur is sized for detail work in tight or contoured areas. The 1/8-inch shank fits standard die grinders, pencil grinders, and rotary tool handpieces. It meets the SA-52 industry specification and ships individually.
This bur is used in metalworking, tool-and-die, welding prep, and maintenance-repair-overhaul applications. It handles tasks such as weld bead blending, port and cavity work, flash removal, and edge chamfering on cast iron, steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and similar materials. The cylinder-with-flat-end geometry is particularly effective for flat-bottom cavities, shoulder work, and right-angle surface blending. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, welders, and maintenance technicians are the primary users. The compact head size suits access to confined areas where larger burs cannot reach.
Designed to fit any die grinder, pencil grinder, or rotary handpiece accepting a 1/8-inch shank collet. Conforms to SA-52 industry specification for cylinder-with-flat-end carbide bur geometry.
Installation is performed by machinists, fabricators, or maintenance technicians using a die grinder or rotary tool equipped with a 1/8-inch collet. Verify the collet is fully tightened and the bur shank is fully seated before operation. Wear appropriate eye protection and gloves when operating rotary cutting tools. Do not exceed the recommended RPM rating of the host tool for burs of this shank diameter.
