The HERTEL MR46-1189.625 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in machine shop and production environments. With a diameter of 0.1189 inches and a diameter tolerance of 0.0000 to +0.0003 mm, this reamer delivers tight, consistent bore sizing in a single pass. The spiral flute geometry with a left-hand spiral direction promotes smooth chip evacuation while maintaining a right-hand cutting action. At 2.9527 inches overall length with a 16 mm flute length, it is sized for close-tolerance work in small-diameter through-holes. Machinists and toolroom professionals install this reamer in CNC machining centers, drill presses, or manual mills using a standard collet or chuck.
This chucking reamer is suited for finishing pre-drilled holes to precise diameter in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The solid carbide construction makes it appropriate for hardened materials, cast iron, aluminum alloys, and other abrasive workpiece materials where high-speed steel tooling wears prematurely. The straight shank allows direct mounting in collet chucks, ER-style collets, or Jacobs-style drill chucks commonly found in production and job-shop settings. The bright, uncoated finish is standard for general-purpose reaming applications where coating is not required.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide chucking reamer for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual milling machines equipped with standard straight-shank collet or chuck toolholding systems.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the straight shank firmly in a collet or drill chuck to the toolholder manufacturer's specified runout tolerance before use. Ensure the spindle and workpiece fixture are fully stopped before changing or adjusting the reamer. Always pre-drill or bore the hole to the appropriate starting diameter before reaming; do not use a reamer to remove excessive stock.
