The HERTEL MR34-0819.438 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed to finish-ream precision holes to No. 45 wire size, equivalent to 0.0820 inches in diameter. Built with a spiral flute geometry and a right-hand cut, this reamer produces accurate, smooth bores in a wide range of workpiece materials. The straight shank seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders. At 1.9685 inches overall length with an 11 mm flute length, it is suited for shallow-to-moderate depth reaming operations. The bright, uncoated solid carbide construction delivers rigidity and dimensional stability in demanding precision machining environments. Machinists and toolroom professionals installing tight-tolerance bores rely on this tool for consistent results.
This chucking reamer is applied in precision machining, toolroom work, and production reaming where hole diameter must be held to close tolerances. It is well suited for CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and drill presses equipped with appropriate collet or chuck tooling. The compact overall length makes it practical for benchtop and vertical-spindle setups. Applications include finish-reaming pin holes, bushing bores, and dowel-fit holes in ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces where the No. 45 wire size diameter is specified.
Designed as an OEM-style precision chucking reamer for use in standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet toolholders on CNC and manual machine tools where a No. 45 wire size finish reamer is required.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolroom safety practices. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the reamer from the chuck or collet. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the holding device is torqued to the toolholder manufacturer's specification before beginning a cut. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and maintain bore quality.
