The HERTEL MR34-0523.406 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking and machining applications. With a 1.33 mm reamer diameter and a bright, uncoated finish, this tool delivers tight dimensional accuracy with a tolerance of 0.0000 to +0.0003 mm. The spiral flute geometry with left-hand spiral direction and right-hand cutting action helps clear chips efficiently during the reaming pass. At 50 mm overall length with a 10 mm flute length, the MR34-0523.406 is suited for small-diameter, close-tolerance bore work in production and toolroom environments. It is installed in a standard straight-shank chuck or collet.
This reamer is used in precision machining operations where tight bore tolerances are required on small diameter holes. Typical applications include finishing drilled or bored holes in ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces to achieve consistent sizing and surface finish. The 1.33 mm diameter places this tool in the micro-reaming range, making it appropriate for instrument components, medical device manufacturing, mold work, and other high-precision machining tasks. The solid carbide construction makes it well suited for harder materials and higher-speed applications compared to HSS alternatives.
Designed as an OEM-style precision chucking reamer for use in CNC machining centers, lathes, and drill presses equipped with straight-shank toolholding. Fits standard straight-shank collets and chucks accepting the appropriate shank diameter.
Chucking reamers should be installed and run by qualified machinists following standard shop practices. Ensure the machine spindle and workholding are powered down and at rest before tool changes. Use an appropriate floating holder or rigid collet chuck to maintain concentricity and prevent tool deflection. Follow the material manufacturer and tooling supplier recommendations for cutting speeds, feeds, and cutting fluid selection to maximize tool life and hole quality.
