The HERTEL MR34-0520.406 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in tight-tolerance machining applications. Built to wire gauge size 55, it cuts to a decimal diameter of 0.0520 inches with a tolerance of 0.0000 to +0.0003 inches, making it suitable for work where bore consistency is critical. The four-flute spiral geometry with a left-hand spiral and right-hand cut promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces chatter on small-diameter bores. The bright polished finish minimizes friction and helps extend tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary installers and users of this tool.
This reamer is suited for precision reaming operations on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes where small-diameter hole finishing is required. Its straight shank allows direct mounting in standard collet chucks, drill chucks, or floating reamer holders. The 10 mm flute length and 50 mm overall length make it appropriate for shallow through-holes and blind-hole finishing in production and toolroom environments. It is not configured as a dowel pin reamer or an over/under size reamer, and is intended for standard on-size finishing cuts.
Designed as an OEM-style precision reamer for use in standard straight-shank collet chucks, drill chucks, and floating reamer holders on CNC machining centers, knee mills, drill presses, and manual lathes requiring small-diameter bore finishing.
This tool is installed and operated by machinists and toolroom technicians. Secure the straight shank firmly in a matched collet or chuck to minimize runout before use. Always bring the spindle to a complete stop and isolate machine power before changing or inspecting tooling. Proper speeds and feeds for solid carbide reamers should be referenced from the manufacturer or a standard machining handbook for the specific workpiece material.
