The HERTEL MR34-0295.281 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in tight-tolerance applications. Built with a straight shank and four spiral flutes with left-hand spiral geometry, it delivers a right-hand cutting action that produces smooth, accurate bores. The 0.0295-inch diameter and a reamer diameter tolerance of 0.0000 to +0.0003 mm make this tool suited for applications where hole size consistency is critical. The bright polished finish reduces friction and aids chip evacuation. Machinists and tool room operators use this reamer in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and lathes where small-diameter hole finishing demands repeatable results.
This chucking reamer is intended for small-diameter precision reaming in metalworking environments. With an overall length of 1.9685 inches and a flute length of 0.7087 inches, it is sized for compact tooling setups and close-clearance work. It is not configured as a dowel pin reamer and is not an over- or under-size reamer. The bright carbide finish makes it appropriate for use in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where surface finish quality is a priority. Typical users include machinists, tool and die makers, and precision manufacturing shops.
Designed as a straight-shank chucking reamer for use in standard drill chucks, ER collet systems, and similar toolholders on CNC machining centers, lathes, and drill presses capable of accommodating the 0.0295-inch shank diameter.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with small-diameter carbide tooling. Secure the straight shank firmly in a precision collet or drill chuck before operation, and verify runout before cutting to protect the carbide from chipping. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and maintain surface finish quality. Handle carbide tooling with care to avoid edge chipping from impact or improper storage.
