The HERTEL MR34-0232.118 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in tight-tolerance machining applications. With a 0.0232-inch (0.59 mm) cutting diameter and a reamer diameter tolerance of 0.0000 to +0.0003 mm, this tool delivers accurate, repeatable sizing in small-diameter bores. The 4-flute, spiral-flute geometry with left-hand spiral and right-hand cutting direction produces a smooth surface finish while controlling chip evacuation. The bright (polished) coating provides a clean cutting edge without added coating thickness that could affect tolerance in micro-diameter work. Overall length is 1.9685 inches (50.00 mm) with a 0.2362-inch (6.00 mm) flute length. Machinists and tool-room operators use this reamer in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills where final bore sizing is critical.
This chucking reamer is suited for production and tool-room environments requiring precise hole finishing in materials where solid carbide outperforms high-speed steel. The straight shank allows direct chuck mounting in standard collets or drill chucks. The micro diameter range makes it applicable for watch components, medical device parts, precision instruments, and other work requiring sub-1.00 mm bored features. The right-hand cutting direction is compatible with standard spindle rotation, while the left-hand spiral flute geometry helps pull chips away from the cutting zone in blind-hole applications.
Designed as an OEM-style chucking reamer for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual milling machines equipped with standard collet or drill chuck toolholding that accepts a straight shank in the micro-diameter range.
Installation and use of this reamer should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with precision hole-finishing operations. Secure the straight shank firmly in a collet or drill chuck rated for the shank diameter before operating. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing or inspecting the tool. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and maintain bore finish quality.
