The HERTEL K008558AS is a spiral flute tap designed to cut internal threads in blind holes where chip evacuation is critical. The spiral flute geometry pulls chips up and out of the hole during threading, making it well suited for bottoming applications where threads must extend close to the bottom of the bore. Built from high speed steel, this tap handles a wide range of workpiece materials encountered in production and maintenance machining environments. It features a 4-flute, right-hand flute configuration with a 52-degree helix angle, a right-hand thread, and an H3 thread limit for consistent tolerance control in 3B class fits.

This tap is used in general machining, tool and die, and maintenance repair operations requiring a 5/8-11 UNC thread in blind hole applications. The bottoming chamfer allows threading to within a few thread pitches of the hole bottom, which is common in fixture work, structural fastener applications, and precision assemblies.
