The HERTEL K008390AS25 is a spiral point tap designed for threading through-holes in metalworking applications. It features a 5/16-18 UNC thread form with a plug chamfer, making it well suited for starting threads in pre-drilled holes and cutting full threads through the material. Manufactured from high-speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, this tap offers improved wear resistance and longer tool life compared to uncoated HSS alternatives. The two-flute spiral point design pushes chips forward ahead of the tap, keeping the flutes clear during cutting. Thread limit is H2, suitable for general-purpose tolerance requirements.

This tap is used in machine shop, production, and maintenance environments for cutting 5/16-18 UNC internal threads in through-hole applications.
