The HERTEL K007017AS is a spiral point STI tap designed for cutting Screw Thread Insert (STI) threads in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other machinable metals. Spiral point geometry pushes chips forward ahead of the cutting zone, making this tap well suited for through-hole applications where chip evacuation is a priority. The tap is ground to an H3 thread limit and carries a plug chamfer with 2 flutes. It measures 2.375 inches overall length with a 0.875-inch thread length.
