The HERTEL H95006213 is a letter-size N jobber-length drill bit designed for general-purpose holemaking in metal, wood, and composite materials. Built from high speed steel with an oxide finish, this bit handles demanding drilling applications where durability and consistent cutting performance are required. The 137-degree split point geometry reduces walking at entry and lowers thrust force, allowing for cleaner, more controlled starts without a center punch on many surfaces. At 4.375 inches overall length with a 2.375-inch flute length, it fits standard drill chucks and magnetic drill presses used in fabrication and maintenance work. This is a heavy-duty grade bit suited for trade and industrial use.
This drill bit is designed for right-hand rotation and is appropriate for drilling through ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and similar materials encountered in HVAC fabrication, plumbing rough-in, electrical conduit work, and general mechanical assembly. The regular spiral flute promotes efficient chip evacuation during through-hole drilling. The 0.3020-inch decimal diameter corresponds to letter size N, placing it in the 0.3000 to 0.3500 inch size range for applications requiring precision hole sizing ahead of tapping or reaming.
Designed as a standard jobber-length drill bit compatible with any 3-jaw drill chuck or keyless chuck accepting round or flatted shanks in the appropriate size range for general holemaking applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified tradesperson familiar with drilling operations and machine tool safety. Secure the workpiece fully before drilling and confirm the chuck is properly tightened on the shank flats before operation. Always wear appropriate eye protection and follow applicable shop safety procedures when operating drill presses or handheld drills. Do not force the bit through material at excessive feed rates, as this can cause premature edge failure or bit breakage.
