The HERTEL H95006131 is a No. 32 wire-size jobber-length drill bit designed for production holemaking in steel and cast iron. It is manufactured from high-speed steel (HSS) with a black oxide and gold (TiN-style) coating that improves lubricity and extends tool life in ferrous materials. The 137-degree split-point geometry reduces walking on entry and lowers thrust force compared to a conventional 118-degree point. At 2.75 inches overall length with a 1.25-inch flute length, it fits standard jobber-length chucks and is sized to the ANSI wire gauge standard at 0.116 inches decimal diameter. This is a heavy-duty grade bit suited for drilling in production shop environments and general metalworking.
This bit is intended for holemaking operations in steel and cast iron workpieces in industrial, maintenance, and manufacturing settings. The regular spiral flute and right-hand cutting direction make it compatible with standard drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held power drills. The two-flute design provides adequate chip clearance for the workpiece materials noted. It is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 12 pieces, making it appropriate for shop restocking and tool crib procurement.
Designed as an OEM-style jobber drill for general holemaking in steel and cast iron; fits standard three-jaw drill chucks and collets accepting the 0.116-inch shank diameter per ANSI jobber-length specifications.
Installation is performed by machinists, toolroom technicians, or maintenance trades using a standard drill press, hand drill, or CNC spindle. Secure the bit fully in the chuck and verify runout before drilling into the workpiece. Always use appropriate cutting fluid or lubrication when drilling ferrous materials to prevent premature edge wear. De-energize or lock out any powered equipment before changing drill bits per OSHA lockout/tagout requirements.
