The HERTEL H60250685 is a solid carbide boring insert designed for precision metal-cutting operations on CNC and manual boring equipment. Manufactured in the TDHH insert style with a 60-degree triangular geometry, this insert carries the HP520B grade designation and features a Titanium Nitride (TiN) coating applied via PVD process. The TiN coating improves wear resistance and extends tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous applications. Key dimensions include a 5/32-inch inscribed circle (0.1600 inches), a thickness of 3/64 inches (0.0469 inches), and a corner radius of 1/64 inch (0.0150 inches). A 15-degree relief angle reduces cutting forces and helps prevent rubbing on the workpiece surface. The insert is screw-held for positive, repeatable seating in compatible boring toolholders.
This insert is suited for internal diameter boring operations in machine shop, production, and maintenance environments. The TDHH geometry and HP520B carbide grade target applications requiring consistent surface finish and dimensional accuracy in steel, cast iron, and similar materials. The 60-degree triangular shape provides three usable cutting edges per insert, making it a practical choice for medium to high-volume boring operations. It is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 units per order.
Designed as a replacement or production insert for boring toolholders accepting TDHH-style inserts with a 5/32-inch inscribed circle. Verify toolholder specifications against insert style TDHH and size code 1.280.751 before ordering.
Insert seating and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine powered down and the spindle locked. Use the appropriate torque screwdriver or hex key for the clamp screw to avoid stripping the seating pocket. Inspect the toolholder pocket for chips or debris before seating the insert. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the HP520B carbide grade as specified by the toolholder manufacturer.
