The HERTEL H59875583 is a cermet uncoated boring insert designed for precision internal turning and boring operations on CNC lathes and manual boring machines. Carrying the TPCG321 designation and manufacturer grade HT630B, this insert features a 60-degree triangular shape, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, 1/8-inch thickness, and a 1/64-inch corner radius. The 11-degree relief angle and left-hand orientation make it well suited for finish boring passes where dimensional accuracy and surface finish are critical. Cermet grade C8 material provides good wear resistance and thermal stability in ferrous and non-ferrous finishing applications. Installation is via screw clamping into a compatible TPCG-style toolholder.
This insert is intended for finish and semi-finish boring of steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous workpiece materials in both production and job-shop environments. The left-hand configuration suits specific toolholder orientations commonly encountered in internal diameter boring bars. The TPCG321 size code makes it a standard cataloged geometry stocked for replacement and high-volume production use. Machinists, toolroom operators, and CNC technicians working with precision bore tolerances will find the HT630B cermet grade appropriate for moderate cutting speeds and lighter chip loads typical of finish boring work.
Designed as a drop-in replacement for TPCG321L-style screw-clamp boring insert seats in TPCG-compatible left-hand boring bar toolholders. Specific toolholder compatibility should be verified against the TPCG321L catalog geometry prior to installation.
This insert is installed and indexed by a machinist or CNC toolroom technician using the appropriate torque screwdriver for the toolholder seat screw. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing the insert. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seating surface for chips or damage before seating the new insert. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque specification for the clamping screw to avoid seat damage or insert fracture.
