The HERTEL H59875492 is a solid carbide boring insert designed for precision internal turning and boring operations on CNC and manual lathes. Formed in a 60-degree triangle (TPCG) geometry, this uncoated insert carries a C1 material grade and an HT540B manufacturer grade, making it suited for consistent performance in light to medium boring applications. The inscribed circle measures 0.375 inches, thickness is 0.127 inches, and the corner radius is 0.007 inches. The left-hand cutting orientation and 11-degree relief angle reduce rubbing and support clean chip evacuation in confined bore profiles. Installation is handled via screw clamping into a compatible TPCG-style boring bar holder.
This insert is intended for use in boring bars and internal turning toolholders that accept TPCG-style triangular inserts with a screw-hold clamping method. It is appropriate for machining ferrous and non-ferrous materials in applications where an uncoated solid carbide edge is preferred, such as finishing passes requiring tight tolerances or situations where coated grades introduce undesirable built-up edge. The left-hand designation must be matched to a left-hand boring bar holder. Typical users include CNC machinists, tool and die shops, and production turning operations requiring repeatable bore geometry.
Designed for use in TPCG-style boring bar toolholders that accept a left-hand, screw-clamped triangular insert with a 0.375-inch inscribed circle. Verify holder specification against insert style code TPCG320.5 and left-hand designation before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and the spindle locked. Seat the insert fully into the pocket before torquing the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified value. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw threads for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Never use a damaged or chipped insert, as this can cause tool failure and workpiece damage.
