The HERTEL H05768411 is a laydown threading insert designed for internal Stub Acme threading operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Manufactured from solid carbide with a TiC/TiN coating, this right-hand insert produces clean, accurate Stub Acme thread forms at 6 threads per inch (TPI). The 3/8-inch inscribed circle (IC) and 0.146-inch thickness conform to the 16IR insert style standard. The TiC/TiN multilayer coating extends tool life by reducing heat buildup and abrasive wear during threading passes on steel and similar workpiece materials.
This insert is suited for internal threading applications in production machining environments where Stub Acme thread forms are required. Stub Acme threads are commonly found in power-transmission components, lead screws, and linear-motion assemblies. The right-hand configuration covers the majority of standard internal threading setups. Machinists and CNC programmers working on job-shop or production runs will find this insert compatible with standard 16IR toolholders and threading bars.
Designed as a replacement or production-supply threading insert for 16IR-style internal threading toolholders and boring bars that accept laydown threading inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully in the toolholder pocket and torque the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specification using the correct Torx or hex key. Verify thread form and pitch with a thread gauge on the first part before running production.
