The HERTEL H05767942 is a laydown threading insert designed for cutting external Stub Acme threads on a lathe or CNC turning center. Built from solid carbide with a TiC/TiN coating, it delivers consistent thread form and extended tool life on ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. The insert uses the 16ER style seat geometry with a right-hand cutting orientation and produces threads at 14 TPI. With a 3/8 inch inscribed circle and a thickness of 0.146 inches, it seats securely in compatible 16ER toolholders. Installation is performed by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is suited for single-point threading operations on external Stub Acme thread forms, a profile commonly found in power-transmission components, actuators, and mechanical feed screws. The right-hand orientation makes it appropriate for standard right-hand thread cutting passes. It is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 units, making it appropriate for toolcrib stocking and production-run replenishment.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement threading insert for lathes and CNC turning centers equipped with 16ER-style external threading toolholders accepting a 3/8 inch inscribed circle insert.
Threading inserts are seated and clamped by a qualified machinist or CNC operator following the toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping procedures. Power down and lock out the spindle drive before changing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket for chips, burrs, or wear before seating a new insert, as pocket damage will affect thread-form accuracy. Follow your shop's tool-change and part-program verification procedures before taking a first threading pass.
