The HERTEL H05767934 is a laydown threading insert designed for cutting external Stub Acme threads on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built from solid carbide and coated with a TiC/TiN finish, this insert delivers wear resistance and thermal stability during threaded-form cutting operations. It runs at 14 threads per inch (TPI), carries a right-hand cutting orientation, and features a 3/8 inch (0.3750 inch decimal) inscribed circle with a thickness of 0.146 inches. The 16ER insert style seats into compatible laydown toolholders. Machinists, CNC operators, and tool-and-die professionals use this insert for production threading of Stub Acme profiles in steel and similar workpiece materials.
This insert is suited for external threading applications where Stub Acme thread forms are required, including lead screws, actuator components, and power-transmission hardware. The right-hand designation matches conventional feed-direction threading setups on the majority of CNC turning centers and engine lathes. The 14 TPI specification is appropriate for medium-pitch Stub Acme threading commonly encountered in both general machining and repair work. The TiC/TiN coating supports extended tool life in ferrous material threading applications where heat and abrasion are primary wear factors.
Designed as a direct-fit laydown threading insert for 16ER-style toolholders accepting Stub Acme external thread inserts. Consult toolholder documentation to confirm seat geometry and clamping compatibility before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the machine before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the manufacturer-recommended torque wrench or hex key to seat the insert clamp — do not overtighten by hand. Verify insert orientation and thread-form angle against the job print before taking the first threading pass.
