The HERTEL H05766027 is a laydown-style threading insert designed for internal UN thread applications. Built from solid carbide with a TiC/TiN coating, it delivers consistent thread quality and wear resistance in demanding turning and boring operations. The insert carries the HG630TR grade designation and is configured for right-hand cutting with 6 threads per inch. With a 1/2-inch inscribed circle and a thickness of 0.187 inches, it fits standard laydown threading toolholders used in CNC and manual lathes. This insert is typically installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals running threaded-bore work in ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
This insert is suited for internal threading operations producing 6 TPI UN-standard threads in production and job-shop environments. The right-hand orientation and 22IR insert style make it appropriate for use in standard 22IR-compatible laydown threading toolholders. The TiC/TiN finish helps extend tool life in interrupted cuts and continuous threading cycles on steel and similar workpiece materials.
Designed for use in 22IR-style laydown threading toolholders configured for internal UN thread operations.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is secured before seating or removing the insert. Use the appropriate torx or hex key specified by the toolholder manufacturer to clamp the insert to the correct seating torque. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before installation to ensure proper seating and accurate thread form.
