The HERTEL H05095021 is a solid carbide boring insert designed for precision internal boring operations on CNC and manual turning equipment. Manufactured to the WPMT insert style with a 32.52 size code, this insert features an 80-degree trigon shape with an 11-degree relief angle. The TiN coating is applied via PVD process, improving surface hardness and wear resistance for extended tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The GP chipbreaker geometry supports general-purpose cutting across a range of depths and feed rates. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert type in compatible boring bars and toolholders.
This insert is suited for internal diameter boring applications in production and job-shop environments. It is used in both roughing and finishing passes where a 1/32 inch corner radius is appropriate. The 3/8 inch inscribed circle (IC) and 5/64 inch thickness place it in a compact size class common in small-bore toolholders. Machining operations on steel, cast iron, and similar C5-grade workpiece materials represent a typical use case for the HP520B grade designation.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement-style boring insert for WPMT-style toolholders and boring bars that accept a 3/8 inch IC insert with screw-clamp retention.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and manufacturer-specified clamping screw to seat the insert; do not overtighten by hand. Inspect the toolholder pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
